With the arrival of Spring, we're hosting our 3rd SPAC Presents Astronomy Night, with amateur astronomer and Audubon Naturalist, Bob Vickers.
Sunset on May 5th is at 7:42 pm so we will officially start at 8:00 pm. Please arrive at the Visitor's Center at 7:45 pm for check-in, payment and an intro. There will be no moon present which gives the potential for deep sky delights (e.g. galaxies, nebulae). We should see some of the Eta Aquarid meteor shower; Venus will be well placed in the early evening, with Jupiter visible later.
Folks are welcome to bring their own binoculars or telescopes as well as blankets, star maps/apps, etc; individuals with scopes should also arrive a little early to get set up. Also, it's good to keep white light to a minimum, so bring red flashlights, to preserve night vision.
If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will reschedule for Saturday, May 12th.
