Join us Saturday, November 11th for a two-part workshop exploring the wonderful world of fall leaf colors of the Mississippi Hill Country.
Beginning at 10 am, Mitch Robinson will lead an indoor program discussing the biology and chemistry of our native deciduous trees, shrubs and vines, and the various properties that contribute to our annual show of fall leaf color. The indoor lecture will be followed by a leisurely hike, using a variety of identification techniques to learn recognize our various species at Strawberry Plains. We will return to the Visitor's Center around noon.
Participants are encouraged to bring picnic lunch, and/or return at 1 pm for an Art in Nature workshop with JoyceAnn Gardner, utilizing the various leaves and colors adorning our forest floor.
The cost is $10 per person or $25 per family for the day. All art supplies will be provided.
